Structural Enhancements for Flood Control and Infrastructure Resilience
The UVP-Bradley Basin Cutoff Wall Project delivers essential civil engineering upgrades to enhance flood control and infrastructure resilience in Santa Barbara County. Located at the southeast corner of Bradley Road and Union Valley Parkway near Orcutt, CA, the project features the placement of approximately 63 cubic yards of reinforced structural concrete for a durable cutoff wall, supported by 2,000 lbs of steel reinforcements. Additional work includes the removal of outdated slurry cement and block walls, widening the spillway with 3 cubic yards of Class II base material for improved flow management, and installing an ADA-compliant 27-foot double swing gate. These upgrades modernize the basin’s infrastructure, ensuring long-term stability and efficiency.
- Reinforced Concrete Cutoff Wall: Cast-in-place construction with 63 cubic yards of structural concrete.
- Excavation Work: Removal of slurry cement and block wall sections for improved functionality.
- Spillway Modification: Widened to optimize flow management, supported by Class II base material.
- Gate Replacement: Installation of an ADA-compliant 27-foot double swing gate.
